Last Saturday the Burton AM Tour took place in the Kläppen Snowpark.
With a wide range of challenging and mellow elements it offered a perfect base for the event. Motivated by the springlike sunny weather and the amused spectators, which rewarded every run with a powerful applause, the 45 young riders showed an impressive performance on a high level.
The tightest competition was in the Junior Boys category. The local Niklas Askmyr from Malung presented the best trick of the day, a frontside 900 tailgrab on the biggest kicker. But in the end he ‘only’ achieved the second place since the 19-year-old Joel Andersson from Vretakloster convinced the judges with his solid overall performance. With his victory Joel Andersson qualified for the Burton Halfpipe Invitational in Are taking place at the up-coming weekend.
In the Junior Girls category Matilda Pilfalk from Hällekis let all her rivals behind her and the 14-year-old Timmy Säisä from Kiruna achieved the first place in the youngest category, the Kid Boys.
For the next stop in Are, the Burton AM Tour is now going up North.
