On sunday after the snowbroader Spring Party in Lyon, we met up with Arnaud, the guy who brought Freeboarding in France. Arnaud had called up some of the local freeborders and fixed us with some decks. The guys brought us to a nice spot, gave us some good advice about how to nail it and we got our first tries.
The idea with Freebord is basically very simple: don’t think skateboarding, think snowboarding.
At first it’s really strange but after trying and trying again, we managed to get our first rides going!
Frankly it’s the best thing I tried since a long time. The feeling is really like snowboarding…the streets!
I had a blast and I think I’m already addicted to it.
Arnaud was kind enough to offer us a board so that’s it: I’ll Freebord the whole summer for sure!
It took me a good 30 minutes to feel confident and get some cool rides. It only took Kevin Pearce 2 minutes to be an expert…at least that’s what Arnaud told me. But I believe him and this video proves it! Try a Freebord as soon as you can!

Dude… it looks like real snowboarding! Freaking awesome! :p
No rlly.. where can you buy these?
Grtz,
Joe
You can’t afford one? there relativley cheap bro… maybe you should look into getting a job.
There not that expensive guys, and well worth it!! I’m recently purchased 4th, and don’t put that down to poor build, 3 of them are in full functional order! and the one that died was my mistake playing with traffic.
Anyone wanting to purchase a freebord head over to
http://www.freebord.com and then to and then the store section.
They may set you back a fair bit, but its worth working all of winter so you can ride all summer!
take it easy folks
Josh
Lol they should put a warning label:
“Concrete is harder than snow, remember that!”
are they better than longbords or skateboards and are they as smooth as longbords
