Bataleon doesn’t give a damn about all the reverse camber hype because they have Triple Base Technology - the best thing that has happened to snowboarding, according to them! With TBT you get a board that is more versatile: jib sticks that you can still snowboard on, twins that still carve, crazy carve machines that still butter and freaky pow floating boards that handle better on slopes! Their boards are - still - not flat in 2010 and that’s good! ;)

The TBT comes in 3 flavors according to the type of boards:

  • twin for the Airobic, Distortia, Evil Twin and the Riot tested by the BrO!
  • freestyle for the Fun.kink, violenza, Goliat, Jam and Enemy
  • freeride on the Undisputed and the Omni.

No new models One new model in 2010 -  OMNI -  and new sick graphics and some special editions like the Evil Twin designed by Dutch artist Parra and an eco-friendly Project Green deck.

  1. These really are the best boards. No need to jump on the neg. camber bandwagon when you already have superior engineering and tech.

    And the graphics. Sick.

All I can say is thank you…

  2. What’s the “Project Green” in few words ? (but some more than Eco-friendly)

  3. You write that there are no new models, but what about the Omni ? Is this not a new model ? Bataleon has as far as I know no Omni in program at the moment ?

Yeah for it, Bataleon the best !

  4. Mati_E: So the Green Project is a board made with all the latest green alternative materials that the bataleon crew could get their hands on but it´s still mostly green because of it´s color ;)
More seriously it´s their contribution to reducing our sports impact on the environment: all the Bataleon board are produced in one of the most strict factory in Austria in terms of green policies. So this board is just another step in the right direction. No joke mate!

  5. Goli you’re totally right bro! The Omni is a new deck in the Bataleon line and it’s a sick one!
The Omni is the ultimate one board quiver! One board that does it all and does it all good! And it will be available in 159 and 163. Definitively a board to test!

  6. The Green Project uses wood that is sustainable forest, so the core is actually stamped i believe. Sidewalls(abs) & base (sintered) are from recycled base and sidewalls. Sidewall is also thinner…I think. Not sure what else, but these steps are not cheaper, well thinner sidewalls are, but the rest costs more. Plus GST uses UV cured ink, less solvents & has the lowest warranty rate of any factory in the world.

  7. Hey nico thanks for this. So the description of the Omni sounds a little bit like the Goliath, do you know by now whats the difference betwen those two models ? With only 159 and 163 not a wide range of sizes …

  8. Project Green

Not greener as the rest of the Bata’s. Snowboarding isn’t green by nature and never would be.
The guys from Bataleon already using the most eco friendly stuff as possible. That’s there statement!

    BTW it is a Jam.

  9. Hey Goli. good point.
the main difference between the Omni and the Goliath is the TBT flavor.
the Goliath is an allround freestyle board so it has a freestyle TBT pattern while the Omni is an all mountain board and has a freeride TBT. It has a couple of centimeter more setback as well.
so choosing between one of these two will actually depend on what kind of terrain you spend most time on.
    hope it helps. nico

  10. [...] Bataleon [...]

  11. Does anyone have any problem with nose sliding the rails wih The Jam?

  12. is omni replacing the undisputed?

  13. I am on the 161 emeny…and due for an upgrade. the kink is the sickness!!!!!Bataleon needs to demo in colorado!! Rarely see a Bataleon on the mountain…all this Camber hype!

  14. does anyone know if the women’s boards will come out sintered for 2010? they only offered extruded for the ladies in the 2009 boards

  16. Hey,
We just got our spring dump here in central Wyoming so I took the Undisputed 163 out today for her final powder session of the season, what a snowboard, it truly is a free riders dream board in packed, pow or crud!!! So I’m stoked regarding the news of the Omni, when and where can I get it? Will it come in a mid-wide like the Undisputed 163?
    Thanks and yeah for TBT!

  17. So I was looking at the Goliath 161w. I am looking for an advanced board, thats sweet with natural terrain and can handle impact on jumps. Let me know what advice you have for me because i keep hearing all this talk that it is a beginner board so i’m skeptical about getting it.

  18. Dan O'Riordan says:

I can’t wait for 2010. As you get older though you’d need to think about putting on the brakes between looking forward to the next year of slidy slidy down a mountain and the fact you might be too old to do it.

Anyway, I digress. Very rare for me to ever comment on a forum, but a few glasses of the pink stuff (Rosé wine to all you uneducated buffoons) has enticed me to comment on this particular thread.

What the fuck has happened to the snowboard industry. A green snowboard project. How sad is that. When I see posts from young ones talking about next years sickest board using recycled elephant shite makes me want to cry. I want a board company to make the most advanced boards on the planet. Let Al Gore talk shite about the planet. Let’s be honest, Balaleon might make great boards but if they start trying to be all politically correct then I, as an old man wonder what they’re at…

Rock ‘n’ Roll and Boarding are a combination. I don’t want to listen to “The Clash” telling me as they roar out “London’s Burning” that we’re burning it with products that will save the planet. The planet will always survive. You and me probably won’t. So, let’s not get our knickers too much in a twist about our sticks and concentrate on the here and now. Phew…

So, quick summary. A board is a bit of wood with a bit of plastic and metal rim keeping it together. Chill out, ride it hard and less of the “We’re green” to entice a few tree huggers to join the fun.

By the way, all the world is more than welcome to come to France to have a drink and ride some of the best mountains on the planet.

    Later…

p.s. I want the new evil twin! Yippie!

  20. Dan Westley says:

    Sotha,

The Omni hasn’t replaced the Undisputed. However, the omni is a bit more flexi and forgiving with an increased setback for the deeper days. Super fun board and a bit cheaper than the Undisputed.

  21. Hello nice people, some advice needed… I’m an intermediate to advanced rider. Get my kicks bombing down the pistes, do a little off-piste but not massive amounts, don’t ride park. Going to get a Bat, been completely sold on TBT and all the good things said about it and these boards. Having been riding a Burton (quiet at the back) Custom. Fairly happy with it but given it’s the only stick I’ve ridden it might as well be the best board out there. Which it’s not…

So, to cut a long story to medium in length - given my ability and where I ride what model Bataleon should I get. Goliath or Jam? Is the Undisputed too much of an off-piste board for a “mainly piste” old man (36 if you’re asking) like me?

    Thanks for spreading your knowledge…

  22. fellow riders i am looking for a new board and came acrossed bataleon and the wonders of TBT but i dont know what board i should get someone please help, I’m a farly good rider and am looking for somthing for the park and rails like a street syle skate like feel but what sure I get?? I was looking at the
fun kink ( USA edition) which is not twin but looks good for the park and all around or the evil twin, or airobic or maybe the MJ limited

PLease someone help I live in Utah and dont know anyone who has one, Show me the ways of this TBT tec and all its wonders
alechales1@yahoo.com thanks and remember smile its snowboarding :)

  23. Old Man,

I was riding Burton Customs for years. I was advised to go with A Bataleon Goliath in 2007 and it’s the best thing I ever did. It’s got tons more grip than the custom, the edge to edge transition is second to none. It is much quicker when flat due to the TBT. The extra control gave me the confidence to go a lot faster on piste. Buy one if you wanna go faster………….

I personally wouldn’t go for the Jam. The Goliath does it all well. Piste, powder, carves, jumps, even ice………TBT rules.

  24. NW snowboarder says:

    A review of the Fun.Kink:

The Omni review is on the way.

  25. Nice review of the Fun.Kink, please post the Omni review! I’m wondering whether it’s just a powder board and how it compares to the Goliath.

  26. Hi, while this post is already rather old, eventually some of you still follow it.
I am an “advanced beginner” in snowboarding. so i am able to ride it, but still working on “being efficient” (=not wasting power by “aggressive” turns, being more relaxed on the board, instead of wasting energy to prevent me from catching an edge - which also happens sometimes). i am also in the progress of improving riding switch…. so in your “world” probably a bloody beginner, just a bit more advanced than the guys and gals riding on their heads and knees ;-)

now i read a lot of good stuff about this TBT thing from bataleon, but also read that these boards are not really suitable for beginners.

is it really the case? bataleon not for beginners?

  27. Dear Josh,
I have been riding snb for over 18 years, I just got the 155 Airobic - a funboard indeed.
pls do not listen to anybody and get yourself a TBT board, shape and length is up to your desires. You can always ride your twin in back country or nosepress a freeride-board on a rail…
