We told you it was going to be insane and our reporter Pull Up who was standing on the coping couldn’t find the words to tell us how intense the Burton European Open Halfpipe finals were!
A monster Halfpipe and blue bird conditions proved to be the perfect combination for the riders to lay down mind boggling tricks that pushed Halfpipe progression to unseen levels.

In the women finals, Kelly Clark repeated her victory from 2008 and claimed first place in front of Kjersti Oestgaard Buaas and Paulina Ligocka.
In the men’s final, the battle was spectacular with Kevin Pearce narrowly snatching victory from Shaun White. The Swiss local and fan’s favourite Iouri Podladtchikov finished in third riding a Santa Cruz deck while we had seen in on a Volcom snowboard during the qualis.
KP was the last rider to hit the pipe today with Shaun White leading, repeating the exact same scenario as last year. Pearce went huge, spinning big with a Stalefish to McTwist, followed by back to back 10s and a Frontside 9.
“It’s amazing to win this title a second year in a row and after not performing that well yesterday its good to get some TTR points today”!

Congrats to KP for ruling the pipe and to Shaun White for winning the Overall BEO title as well as a brand new Volvo! Does he really need it?
