June and July passed by and all the snow parks are closed. What now? Where can you shred?
Luckily, there were some rumors about a small speck of land with snow and obstacles…
Well, the desire was too big and there was only one way to satisfy our craving. Pack our gear and drive to this hidden spot in the Alps, just an hour from Ljubljana.
It’s a 20min walk from the road to this deserted place amongst the mountains, filled with snow, with icy water running beneath it. The coat of snow is about 5m thick and about 250m long, like a little glacier at 1400m, that emerges from avalanches from surrounding mountains.
Anyhow, the box we were told about wasn’t there, but fortunately we found an iron railing and improvised a pole jam. Snow, sun, jibbing, beer, barbecue… It was fun, until the weather forced us to leave.
Naturally, we came back two days later, met two guys there, who brought a small rail and a tube. Now we have a chance to go snowboarding every day of the year which is just an hour away from home.
So yeah, winter never ends. Let’s shred!!!
