Two days ago Marko Grilc invited me to the premiere new Burton’s movie “The B“. Party and premiere took place in K4 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. So many people came that a lot of them couldn’t get the tickects, because it was sold out in less than an hour.
“It’s all dowhill from here.” Marko Grilc would not quite agree with that sentence at this moment. After winning Billabong Air & Style all is just going up, up, up. Or we could say, all is coming so fast from all directions. Because of the Ring his schedule is so full now that he needs to decide where to go. He took a moment and we had few words…
Medo: What happen at Billabong Air & Style?
Grilo: I really didn’t expect that it would go down like that and for me this the big think. I am so stoked about it and still can not believe that actually happen to me.
M: You look pretty happy.
G: I am so excited that a lot of people in Slovenia is supporting me. We can see that right now. So many people came to the premiere of the new Burton Movie. K4 was full in less than an hour. And all are really happy that one of them won so important contest.
M: What this victory means for your career?
G: Hopefully things are gona look pretty good. I will just enjoy doing what I know the best and I hope I’ll have a chance to do that for few more years.
M: Ring brought some changes or not?
G: There is a few changes because I’ve got invited to some big contest. I will need to ride much more contest than in the past. Anyway I wanted to do that, so the victory came in the right time.
M: You are over with FIS or will you attend some more FIS contests?
G: I think snowboarding has reach the point where definitely TTR is really cool, but FIS is there and I will ride all contests if I will have a possibility. Only the schedule is going to be pretty busy.
M: Perhaps European Winter X Games?
G: Lets see how the season goes. I hope I will attend both, in US and in Europe.
M: For sure you’ ve got invitation for Artic Challenge.
G: Yeah I’ve got invitation to Artic Challenge and that is pretty sick. It’s a big honour to be a part of it.
M: What are your plans for the future?
G: Just enjoy snowboarding, hang out with my friends, ride contests, hopefully get some film time with Pirates and Burton and have a fun season…

“The B” shows the riding of major players like Keegan Valaika, Shaun White, Nicolas Mueller, Jussi Oksanen, Frederik Kalbermatten and Jeremy Jones. With appearances by Terje Haakonsen, Kevin Pearce, Mads Jonsson, Mikey Rencz, Mitrani brothers, Mark Sollars, Charles Reid, Spencer O’Brien, Mikkel Bang, Marko Grilc, Kazu Kokubo and Kyle Mack and many more.
What can I say about Keagan’s part. Crazy rail machine with boosting badass style in the backcountry. Really nice.
Apparently the rumors circulating about Shaun White’s private halfpipe were true. Red Bull, with some help from Oakley, hauled in cats and a pipe dragon to build this secret stash, which cost over $500k. The pipe with a custom-built foam pit for practicing new tricks, situated at 12,300 feet is the highest in the world, and can only be accessed by a sled or a chopper. He needs now just six moves/tricks from his part to repeat and Olypic Gold Medal is already in his hands. Any doubts?
Nicolas Mueller, Jussi Oksanen and Frederik Kalbermatten riding bottomless pow pow. So many sections to mention, but they are all solid. Sick powder segments, unforgettable lines with avalanches, insane big mountain runs with some banging shots from the chopper.
And what the hell is with Jeremy Jones this year?!? Love him or hate him, you will have to respect him after seing his heavy bangers, crazy 360 shove-its from or over what ever you can imagine and insane backcountry hits.
“This major motion picture features something bigger, and more iconic, something so over the top that the movie had to bear its name”, first when I read this, I remembered on last year’s That’s it, that’s all. But after seing last part in the movie, that sentence makes sence. 50 Burton riders hitting huge pile of snow. Really nice…
I loved ‘B’ movie this year…it was a step up from a couple of Burton’s last movies. Really enjoyed it! Especially the big ‘B’ park creation.
