You probably noticed it from all our posts covering 09/10 collections…Except Bataleon - coz they have TBT - almost every brand is offering at least one model with negative camber in its next winter collection, if not on all its decks. “Is”? We really should say “was”….
The Burton AM Tour, one of Europe’s largest amateur freestyle snowboarding contest series, has launched into its fourth season. This winter, the tour will shake twelve resorts in twelve different countries. The event give young riders born 1989 or later the chance to show their freestyle skills and put themselves on the map of European snowboarding.
The first three stops of the tour will be indoor events, the first taking place on 15 November 2008 in Bispingen, Northern Germany. All 2009 stops will see sunlight, starting on 24 January 2009 in Flachauwinkl, Austria. The overall tour winners will be crowned at the last stop on the glacier of Val Senales (Italy) on 28 March 2009.

The ladies at Nikita where super stoked with the success they got this year for the second edition of the Nikita Photoshoot Contest, with 2 times more participants than last year. Volcom will not start to sell boards this season but they confirmed us that they will produce boards for their riders who dont have a sponsor deal for boards! Gigi Rüff, Seth Huot, Zac Marben are potential candidates, and today it was confirmed that 2006 “Rookie of the Year” Elena Hight has joined the Volcom snow program. “Starting immediately she will be rocking Volcom from her beanie to the board under her feet” is written in the PR we got today. When you know that Billy Anderson is the Team Manager behind this crew, you can only expect the best in the winters to come from this bunch!

On October 11th 2008, pro snowboarder Vera Janssen and the Icelandic clothing company NIKITA are organizing an OPEN AIR SNOWBOARD JAM outside of the gates of the Jever Indoor Ski-Hall in Neuss. Inscription begins at noon and the Jam-Session will start at 1pm.
The NIKITA BATTLE OF THE BABES, which is open for female snowboarders of all ages and skill levels, will enable the indoor snowboard scene of the flatland areas of Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands to enjoy a fun afternoon with “NO CEILING, NO BOYS, NO PRESSURE” and hopefully create some new snowboard friendships among the girls.
Dear Isenseven friend! The movie’s done, the time has come! October 2nd is the day everybody has been waiting for. Spotlights will brighten the nightsky, the red carpet’s full of all kinds of stars and starlets and all of Munich will only know this one spot. The **Kesselhaus** at the subway station Freimann will be the venue of the major snowboard party in Germany. At 9pm the gates of the two-hall-party-location with the big outside area will open up for you and the long-awaited snowboard movie “Teenage Love Graffiti” will be shown at 11pm. After the last pictures vanish from the big screens, the party-hell really gets started with the tunes of the hot DJ-Duo directly from music capitol London, UK, Jeff Automatic (Transmission) and Mikey Four (Club NME), together with well-known Sir Hannes (Atomic Café, Munich) and other special guests. They’ll guarantee a catchy mix of Indie, Electro and your favourite dance hits which won’t let you sit still until the lights go on, sometime early the next morni ng.
There is no, absolutely NO excuse on this planet not to show up at this celebration (except if you live in Kirgistan).
