Burton announced that it will shift premium snowboard production from its small, Vermont-based Burton Manufacturing Center (BMC) to Austria, where the company has been building snowboards for over 25 years. Product design and development will still be home-grown in Vermont, where the company will relocate its snowboard prototyping resources from BMC into a new, purely R&D-driven prototype facility at its global headquarters in Burlington.

At the second day of competition of the 6Star Burton US Open a over 80 snowboarders fought for one of 41 spots to proceed to qualifiers which will happen on Thursday. The mild temperatures and soft slopes did not stop riders to show their best skills as this is their chance to battle the world’s best riders on Friday in the slopestyle semi finals and finals.

Halfpipe Qualifications Under Sunny Skies at The Burton US OpenPosted by: medo in Contests, TTR
This Tuesday, spectators at Stratton Mountain saw the first day of competition of the 6Star Burton US Open 2010. Under sunny skies and in spring like conditions, 34 riders battled for 20 spots in the qualifications that then saw 10 snowboarders proceeding to semis finals that are taking place this Saturday.
For the third year in a row the Oakley Jib-Vid crew are in Mayrhofen awaiting the arrival of the 18 teams who will compete for the coveted top prize of 5,000 euros for their 2-minute film. In just a couple of hours the teams’ arrival will be greeted by beautiful blue skies in the picturesque Zillertal valley.
We are super stoked to announce that big mountain legend Johan Olofsson has joined Venture Snowboards as a product tester, and will be contributing to product design and development.
100 riders from six countries joined the Stubai Jam as the third stop of the Quiksilver Wir Schanzen on March 13th to ring in the Spring Sessions at the Moreboards Stubai Zoo. A mixture of sun, wind, perfect setup, relaxed atmosphere and not to forget the snowboard and ski action made a brilliant day on the Stubai Glacier.
Teton Gravity Research is proud to announce a partnership with Jeremy Jones on a two-year snowboard project titled Deeper. The legendary eight-time Big Mountain Rider of the Year winner has been working with TGR since its inception in 1996.
