Time to get geeky! SnowBroader is proud to reveal it’s very own iPhone App!!
A couple of months ago, I received an email from Peter asking if he could develop an iPhone/iPod Touch app for SnowBroader purely as a learning curve process for him to improve his skills in writing apps for Apple products.
Peter is 21 years old from near London, and has been snowboarding for coming up to 5 years. He tries to spend at least a month of every year on the snow and this obsession carries through into his education. He is at University in Norwich, studying Computer Science where he is also president of the snow sports club.
“Go for it Bro!” is what I replied and here it is!!!
We are really stoked about the work and dedication Peter put into developing the SnowBroader app and the finished product turns out to be quite awesome!
To download the app to your iPhone / iPod Touch, go to the iTunes store and type SnowBroader in the search engine or simply click on this link.
Once the app is installed on your device, you will be able to visualize the content from the BROblog to get your daily dose of Euroshred action at the tip of your fingers, breathe through all our sick PROblogs, follow our twitter updates, check out our latest snowboard flicks and even watch all the videos we upload! Damn this is too good!
HUGE BIG UP to PETER for delivering a great app for SnowBroader!
Go ahead guys, download it, spread it and have fun using it!!

Xavier Delerue is a hell of a lucky guy. While filming for Standard’s Aesthetica last march in the Alps, he got caught in one of the most impressive avalanches ever recorded on film. The whole spine he was riding on, broke down and smashed him over a two kilometer ride! This happened a few days after The Xtreme de Verbier where Xavier was crowned World Freeride champion. Xavier, an overtalented and experienced freerider, can be grateful he was riding with an ABS system that allowed him somehow not to be crushed by the pressure of the snow and keep him on top of the avalanche.
This comes as a wake up call before the season really gets going. The first big snowfalls are expected this week-end in the Alps. Don’t get overwhelmed people! Safety first.
Click below for the super impressive video and Xavier’s testimony and words of wisdom.
We also attached a full interview where Xavier gives more detailled about what happened.
For the people living in France or if you have France 2 - one of the main French channels - don’t miss a subject on Xavier and avalanche awareness at 8pm tonight.

Yeah BrOs!
This is it! Since September 22sd we have been feeding you with our daily shred posts - non stop!
The season has been awesome and we have enjoyed every second of it both off and online!
We definitly hope you had a blast too, riding hard in the nice freshy we got blessed with this winter, killing parks around Europe, shredding with your BrOs or simply having fun on your board, and of course checking out our blog every day!
The time has come to wrap it up…we won’t come back on all the epic events, contests, resorts, interviews, product reviews we had the great opportunity to do and we just invite you to “surf” through our archive, tag cloud, BrOADER[TV] episodes to relive some of the best moments.
We are switching to summer mode, which means extreme chilling, freebording - definitly - and heading to the beach as soon as possible! But we have big plans for the future version of snowbroader.eu which will be up and running in September if we manage to pull it off.
In the mean while, we would be stoked to receive your feedback on what you think of snowbroader.eu - good or bad, but don’t be too harsh or we will track you until we find you - what we could improve, what you would like to see/read/hear on snowbroader which is missing, etc…
Okay, boys and girls, it’s time to pull the curtain down on this second year of existence of snowbroader and wish you the best summer ever!
See you in September!
Peace
Nico & Phil - The BrOs

It’s undeniable, the major trend for the 2008/09 gear - be it board, boots, bindings, wear or accessories - is set on neon style, bright acid colors, flashy tektonik graphics.
Premises are already visible on this year’s gear: just look at K2 boards, Union bindings, the Un…inc range, DC boots. There are so many examples.
But next year it will not be possible to avoid it. It somehow recalls the year when all the brands had to come up with skull graphics. Freakin fashion trends.
But is this what kids really want and why are we turning back to this fluo style that the Tom Sims or Craig Kelly generation was rockin’ in the late 80′ies at the very beginning of snowboarding?
Let’s just take an example: Nomis just announced the release of their new outerwear range, and at the same time Burton released their Archive collection.
Now tell me from this pic, which one is 2008 Nomis and which one 1988 Burton?

OK we couldn’t fool you but com’on! Fuck, except for the cuts and attitude, these two OUTERWEAR could be interchangeable.
Is it because we are threatened again by the ski industry who is attracting the newer generation more than snowboarding, that we feel the need to look back at our roots? Is it because the sport has grown up so much, and has opened up to so many people?
Or at the opposite, are we all super stocked, happy and feeling all hippie, flowers, bright colors…
I donno…baseline is we rather have the brands really investing in eco initiatives and proposing sustainable gear rather than pushing us to consume more every year to be up to date with the latest trends.
Let’s just hope some brands will stand out, offer an alternative and be true to their core image. Because in our opinion these are the brands who really set the trends and don’t just follow them.
And strangely enough for that we put our trust in European brands!

Rail Strike 2007 is an urban snowboarding “rail” contest that will take place in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia on the 19th and 20th of December!
Some of the top Eastern European snowboarders and more than 2000 spectators are expected for this unique event.
The course will be shaped on an enormous construction covered with real snow!
The simulated urban-landscape will feature a giant staircase, one rail, two boxes!
Invited riders like Basa “we love u” Stevulova (Sk), Marc Swoboda (At), Wojtek Pawlusiak (Pl), Bazsi Takacs (Hu) will try to bring back home a slice of the 3000 Euros of prize money up for grab!
Big up to the organisers snowculture.eu - check their website for all the infos - for their efforts to promote snowboarding in Bulgaria.
Snowbroader.eu is proud to support such a contest! Viva European snowboarding!
