Two epic events took place last week-end: the LongBoard Classic in Stuben, Austria and the Fluo Flash Fun in Les Diablerets, Switzerland.
The LBC is a well established event that celebrated it’s 10th anniversary this year. It’s a great get together of legends that are at the foundation of snowboarding such as Shaun Farmer, Chuck Barfoot, Terry Kidwell, but also of hundreds of passionate riders who come to celebrate snowboarding the old-school way with a bonzai race.

At the opposite, the Fluo Flash Fun is an insane end of season event that brings together a bunch of happy shredders from the Suisse Romande region, who wear neon proudly, are stoked on riding their older brothers or parents monoskis and old-school snowboards, and have a blast stomping suitcases and cross-rockets on a tiny kicker!
Two events and two ways to celebrate snowboarding the best way possible!

After 15 tournaments in 11 different European countries, the qualified snowboarders will come and battle it out at the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam European champs for the ultimate fight. Come and see them karate chop the rails on the Glacier 3000 in Gstaad-Les Diablerets on Saturday 18th of April. As well as insane kung fu snowboard moves, there will be tons of prizes and 3 flight tickets for the World PBRJ champs in Mammoth Mountain, CA (25 of April, 25 000$ prize money).
Below you will find all the details about the event and the confirmed riders. There are some heavy contenders like frenchy Pierre Rué or Nejc Ferjan from Slovenia! In the ladies battle our Swiss francs are on Vanessa Waldenhofer. Go girl!

Anyway if you are around les Diablerets this week-end, but not at all into rails chopping, stop by in Isenau - that’s the small little red eggs - for a totally fun retro session: the yearly FLUO FLASH FUN gathering!
This event brings together most of the local Suisse Romande scene for an awesome day of v-turns, old-school slalom, bbq, drinks and of course a mega-neon  80ies disco party!

We are totally stoked to support the up-coming Longboard Classic this week-end in Stuben, Austria, and totally pissed that we cannot be part of it because this year they will celebrate 10 Years of Longboard Classic.

Numerous snowboard legends have applied for the 10th anniversary: Chuck Barfoot, owner of the correspondent snow-surf- and skate firm and one of the 4 founding fathers of snowboarding. Terry Kidwell, the „Godfather of Freestyle“, 4 times Freestyle World Champion and all-time Sims team rider as well as Shawn Farmer, the freerider who showed us in the late 80ies what it is like being a local in Alaska. Terry and Shawn are also going to get the crowd rocking with their band „Hunk of Metal“, which is probably the most legendary snowboard band in the world: Terry Kidwell (guitar), Shawn Farmer (vocals), Bob Klein (drums), Scotty Milburn (bass), Jeff Hackett (lead guitar & vocals).
But that’s not all: It will be the ultimate class reunion! Three generations of snowboard heroes from the fields industry, riders and media will celebrate ten years of Longboard Classic together!

Ah ah! Our Bros over at Makia clothing came up with this fun idea to stomp as many methods as possible in 60 seconds. The result is this video from Finland with heaps of riders tweakin it! I wonder which methods are from Jesse and Joni?

Reverse camber, Rocker technology, Amptek, CamRock, Banana, call it as you like, negative camber is THE big thing for next year. You probably noticed it from all our posts covering 09/10 collections…Except Bataleon - coz they have TBT - almost every brand is offering at least one model with negative camber in its next winter collection, if not on all its decks. “Is”? We really should say “was”….

During his cross-country road trip to California in a quest to make Pamela Anderson his wife and take her back to his country, Borat, Kazakhstan’s sixth most famous man and most popular TV reporter, apparently also stopped by at Mervin Manufacturing!
Here he is posing in his trademark outfit on the Lib Tech Banana Hammock! If this deck goes out like that, it might just be the sickest graphics of 2009/10! And definitely a board you will want to make sexy time with.

SAY YES TO THE NO! Finally Europe’s first Annual NoBoard Meet and Inferno-Bonsai Race is taking place in a little Freeride Paradise in Central Switzerland. Namely Haldigrat near Wolfenschiessen. 1 chair-lift and zero grooming!
Everybody is welcome for the bonsai, only base rule is you are NOT allowed more than 1 strap on your board (NO Bindings), so anything from Snurfer, Noboard, Nofish, Asmo or similar are excepted to take part in the Race.  The Meet is open for all. NO restrictions, NO starting fee’s, NO prizes, NO compromise. Winner takes home the Honor and annual Title.

They customized a G450X motorad into a catapult used by a couple of Nitro riders to gap a frozen river!

That’s it! The ISPO, the biggest industry get together in Europe is kicking off this week-end! ISPO is a true ‘gathering of the tribe’ and since its inception it has always provided the perfect arena for industry to get together and get things done. Take the TTR World Tour for example: ISPO was its birthplace back in 2002. It was here that Terje Haakonsen, Drew Stevenson and the rest of the snowboard industry banded together to form the most progressive, respected snowboard tour in the world!

For the third consecutive year (check our 2007 and 2008 ISPO posts), the SnowBroader crew will be at ISPO for your pleasure! Like usual we will cover the event in and out to bring you as many pictures of the new 2010 gear as possible, plus video podcasts with a focus on the innovation brands have been cooking up for all of us!
Of course we have already posted a bunch of 2010 gear previews but with ISPO we plan to go really in depth. That’s if we survive all the partying and hang-overs the ISPO is famous for!

Seems like the YES.bros are having a good time in Vegas!
The first YES.boards are being presented right now at the SIA show, so the YES.boys are pretty stoked on testing them…big method air from DCP, extreme V-turn from RDM, and even YES.skiing!?
All of this happening on…their hotel room’s carpet! Carpet riding is fun! Way to go bros!
