That’s it the Mondial du Snowboard is over! The resort of Les 2 Alpes can get back to it’s normal pace and peace. I personaly have mixed feeling about these 3 days spend up there. The massive snow falls on thursday gave us hope of a powdery week-end. But the wind rapidly wasted the whole party and in fact there was actually very little riding happening over the week-end. This means that people could not really test boards - and that’s what this event is all about - and pros could not give their show on saturday evening. But hey, we are nothing in front of Mother Nature and so we have to live with that. No riding then meant intense partying instead! All the usual parties went on in all the usual places (Smithys to Avalanche is the classic route), with the Snowboard Collective award ceremony kicking it off on friday evening. Honestly we spent most of our days chilling in our booth and “brassing” all our new and old friends from the scene. We also made some noise on friday with our Punk Rock concert in collaboration with FST Handwear. Dread Killer gave a hell of show. since we couldn’t test board ourselves we went around to collect info from riders and reps. So look out for a bunch of BrOADER[gear] video reports in the weeks to come! Thx to all of you who left us comments to test boards and sorry we couldn’t do it. Thx also to Gaylord for the great organisation and good spirit! That’s it…now the season is on. Click for our impressions of the Mondial.

This week-end we will be doing it @ Mondial du Snowboard in Les 2 alpes. Donno how we are going to manage everything as we are organising a Punk Rock concert on friday (come check it out!), will have a booth under the “chapiteau” next to the Jandri (come for a beer!), will be wasted on booze and still want to test decks and ride on the glacier as the conditions for this week-end look pretty powpowpowish!
Anyway since we are going to be up there we might as well do something useful for you!
You guys are probably going through all the catalogs, surfing the web for info etc on the deck you dream of buying to shred this winter. Well, like with a car, before buying, it’s always better to test ride it! If you don’t have a chance to go to one of these board test events this fall, we can do it for you!
Leave a comment and tell us which board you want us to test, and we will do that for you! Not only will we ride it, we will also try to get inputs from pro-riders and staff to help you make the right choice!
Click here to see which brands will be represented and just go ahead: specify brand, board name, board size in a comment, sit tight and wait.

One of the main events of the season’s opening and definitly a tradition not to be missed, is the Mondial du Snowboard. This year, we are über stoked because we will have a SnowBroader booth in the media corner so make sure to come say hi, and pick up some freebies. We are also excited because we are preparing so cool animations with our friends from FST Handwear….more on that later.
Back to our subject: the Burton Parkway freestyle show that will be the highlight of the week-end. Well our Bro Gaylord - zee organiser - send us some design shots of the setup: different size gaps for more air time with elements to bong on the way + a wall on the right handside. It will for sure be a hell of a showdown so make sure to be in les 2 Alpes on the w-e of November 1st. And see you there!

During the Mondial in les 2 Alpes last November, Mélanie, the Roxy team manager, adviced us to interview a 13 years old chikita called Emma Bernard because she was sort of winning all the contest she was entering.
So yeah, why not, we did just that. But then we somehow forgot to publish it. Shame on us!
Emma just won the youth slopestyle contest at the BEO yesterday and gave us a good excuse to finally publish her interview!
Meet Emma and remember her name because something tells me we will hear a lot more about this girl in the winters to come!
Oh and huge congrats for your win Emma!

After Imperium and Bataleon, our third “small” brand with a soul founded by riders for riders is Aaven snowboards!
Aaven was created in 2006 by 5 friends among which Seb Vassoney long time french pro rider.
After riding half of their lives and experiencing snowboarding from different perspectives, they decided it was time to make a move and put some more love into the future of snowboarding.
Even though last winter was very hard on Aaven, they didn’t let go and propose two boards this season: the all-round freestyle HUNT and the pure freestyle BMB. They also have a very international team of riders to represent the brand!
That’s it! Listen to Seb’s vision of snowboarding and brand building! Peace.

We told you that there were a lot of cute girls at the Mondial..He he.
And Basa is probably one of the cutest and most friendly we met!
Do we still need to introduce her? I donno…
Basa comes from Slovakia, a country that offers good snowboarding terrain but few structures for the local riders.
However thanks to her talent and dedication, Basa is exploding on the world snowboard scene!
She scored very solid results last season and is fired up to go even further this year!
Basa rides Roxy gear from head to toe and seems stocked about that!
Listen to what Basa has to say about her plans, her gear, Slovakia, check out her beautiful smile and keep an eye on her this winter! (we will keep two…)

L’Arrog…! This kid has been making a lot of noise this fall and it’s normal that we tried to know a little more about what was going on for him.
L’Arrog just switched from Burton, where he had a great time but no real perspective, to Bataleon where he is part of the International team and feels like being at home! He feels so good that he even found the way to break his wrist on their first photoshoot!!
Through l’Arrog’s confession, we also give you the opportunity to discover Bataleon. Bataleon is the most promising European brand in our opinion.
No wonder they have been elected breakout brand of the year at the end of last year!
This year, they have been growing the board range and have developped bindings as well as some clothing. Of course they are proud of their triple base technology because that’s what they have built their difference around, but are also very proud of their style and boards graphics, which you cannot miss.
So after Imperium and Demir Julia, check out l’Arrog and Bataleon for this second episode of our “brands with soul” interviews!

Imperium snowboards! Yeah baby! Probably THE raising European brand with the strongest personality to arrive on the scene this past years.
As we announced, during the Mondial du snowboard, we decided to focus on “smaller” brands, but brands with a real soul and passion, brands looking to bring something new to the industry.
And you shouldn’t be surprised to discover that the founders of those kind of brands are none else than hardcore riders who have been on the scene since many, many years, have been through the ups and downs of modern snowboarding and want to leave today, their cornerstone to the foundations of European snowboarding.
So in our first episode, we bring you Imperium and Demir Julia, who founded the company 3 years ago.
Step by step, Demir and his crew have managed to create the core image of Imperium, an image deeply inspired by latin history and values. Step by step, Demir has been able to convince some of the best European riders to join his Legion, and step by step Imperium is building its reputation with high quality products and designs.
Listen to Demir and I’m sure you’ll understand the meaning of core!
We are 200% behind Imperium because that’s why we love snowboarding: for these smaller brands with personality, for this spirit that reminds us of the early years of snowboarding when riding was actually hardcore, and when we were all supporting true snowboard brands and not skiing companies…so what about you? Are you going to support your local snowboard brand?

OK! Once again… This is our third post in a month about KAORIGIN!
We already described the concept, had a BrOADER[view] with Christian Alary…
So if we are good bloggers you should know already everything about it !
But during the “mondial du snowboard”, we were invited to their après-ski party and had a short break to film this 2 minutes long interview with the big boss Jacques Lacroix .
So here are the words of the president….

Yeap! Dudes can be stupid from time to time.
But the Mondial du Snowboard was rad and we had our little game going on during the week-end to find and elect our “Cutest girl of the Mondial du snowboard“!
We had a hard time because it seems like cute girls just gave themselves an appointement in les 2 Alpes that week-end.
But after a few rounds of observation, there was not discussion possible.
Here’s our unanimous winner. We won’t reveal anything about her but the picture and video talk for themselves!
Big up to Ghost Beubeu for his comments on the video, and ladies, thanks for being so cute! One love! The BrOs
