“There is nothing more fun then riding my home mountains and cruising down the slopes in the sunshine.. I came to Avoriaz for the Stash opening.. Since I was so close from home, my mum, brother and friends came to meet me through the slopes from the swiss side.. We started with some runs in the pipe cause my brother had a world cup the next day and went for some slopes..
I had my camera in the pocket and shot funny slashs pics.. we took some runs in the stash and went to the sunset side of the mountain for some riding in the easy park.. the snow was really good and it wasn’t too cold.. we had a super fun day finding little jumps all over the place..
Avoriaz is one of the 8 french resorts part of “Les Portes du Soleil” which are also connecting to 6 other swiss resorts. They have got a sick pipe, 2 really good parks and from now on, a stash run.. There are no cars in the village.. if you need a cab you ll use the horse cars.. the buildings look really funny as if they came right out of a cartoon.. the best about it, is that you wake up and strap in since the village is right in the middle of the slopes!! Check it out”

As proud partners of the Leysin Park, we are super stocked to announce that the Superpipe in Leysin as been perfectly shaped and is opened as from today!
Norman Kerr and Nico Vaudroz, the Leysin Park shapers, have been working hard the whole week to achieve this.
The Superpipe in Leysin is massive, one of the biggest pipes in Switzerland if not Europe: 140m long to hit more tricks, 5m of walls to fly higher and a slope inclined at 20°degrees to keep that speed pumping! A perfect swiss pipe baby!

Of course next to the pipe, a nice park is also waiting for you! There’s the red line with a big gap, a mid-size gap and a couple of nice boxes and rails, the blue line offers a sequence of kickers with easier rails in between, and when you reach the bottom just high 5 your bro and go for a drink at the Freestyle bar! Easy!

Keep up to date with all the happenings and park conditions on LeysinPark.ch!

Many of you will be heading to the mountains for Xmas and let me tell you something: the conditions are great!
There are tons of snow (at least in the Alps) and it has been bluebird this whole week. Good point this week was that the resorts were still empty. That’s bound to change for the Xmas break…

Anyway, here’s a new BrOADER[spot]!
We went to cruise in Avoriaz yesterday. Damn this resort kicks ass! Freeriding options are all over the place, and this is a freestyle mecqua!
The park in la Chapelle is perfect and includes a nice kicker line, a rail line with a lot of different set-ups and good vibes on the spot. The big park in Arare is not quite ready yet but it looked like the shapers were preparing something huge…
Then there’s the Superpipe of course. It’s perfectly maintained, and the walls are huge.
And finally what you have all been waiting for: The Stash.
The Stash is awesome, no other word. Natural snpwpark build in the woods, with natural set-ups every where. Really fun and massive!

This is solid stuff that Avo is offering to riders, so our BrO advice: go shred Avoriaz this winter!

Here’s a short video from yesterday, just to make you wanna go! Peace.

“In the idyllic countryside of Zresko Pohorje, which winter always covers in snow, at 1.517 m above sea level lays the ski centre Rogla. Excellently maintained ski slopes for all kinds of skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiing, hotels and bungalows in the immediate areas of the slopes, offer you not only comfortable lodgings and gastronomic pleasures, but also plenty of opportunities for unforgettable free time, recreation and fun activities.”

Doesn’t this short presentation of the slovene ski resort of Rogla makes you want to go explore it? ;) Well we have an additional reason for you to go there this winter: our slovene friends from www.mungo.si , and probably all the slovene snowboard scene, must be stocked because Rogla - located just 1h30 drive away from the capital Ljubljana and it’s international airport - has announced its plans to build the biggest snowpark ever this side of the Alps!
If the conditions are good and they manage to achieve what they’ve planned, this snowpark promises to offer everything you’ve ever dreamt off: half pipe, downrails, C-box, Butterbox Combo, Double Wave Line, Kids Line (3x 3m box), Beginner Line (Rainbow box 6m, Flatbox 6m, A-Frame Box 6 m), Expert Line (A-Frame box 7m), Up&Down Rail 7m, Doublekink rail 12m, Elephant Rail 10m, Kink Rail 7m, Tree Jib, Big Table Kicker, and a corner jump!! BAM!

You can already virtually pick up your lines thanks to this 3D animation!

We don’t only spend way too much time in front of the computer, we also try to ride as much as we can!
And if you had told me at the end of the last season, that I would be riding my first powpow lines on the 17th of November, I would have laughed out loud for sure!
But the conditions right now in the Swiss Alps as well as in parts of Austria and France are amazing!
It’s snowed over 50 cm, the air is fresh, and it feels like February! Lots of resorts have opened this week-end.
But we are in November and warmish weather is expected next week again…however it’s a great start.

So regarding the Glacier 3000 - probably one of the best spots to ride in Europe this time of the year - well, the park is fantastic. The classic huge lines of kickers is well groomed and offer possibilities for all levels. A rail line is also there and on the other side of the ski-lift, the fat pipe is shaped as well as the monster gap. Only problem when it’s a bit windy like it was yesterday is the lack of speed to hit all the kickers, but hey, that’s life!

Check this short video of a nice day of ride at 3000m!

Hintertux PArk Opening

As Beckna puts it:

I think it’s great that the people come together in the valley of Tux to start the season. An opening with the right spirit like the Park Opening in Hintertux is good for the shops and the scene. And the fact that more and more Snowboarders and Freeskiers show up in the valley is the sign for the locals that the winter is coming.”

Check the video from the Park Opening, it was 2 weeks ago, and if you were there, tell us how it was!
It definitly makes me want to go ride!
