Shaun White surprised Snowboard World at Winter X Games with an unprecedented trick, the double McTwist 12. He worked  with the trick for two years until he finally have mastered it. Iouri Podladtchikov needed only two weeks. Does this means end of Shaun White’s supremacy?!?

Shaun White was born with a Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect for which he endured two open-heart operations before the age of one. He spent his formative years riding Okemo Mountain and Bear Mountain, small ski resorts found in Ludlow, Vermont, and the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. White following in his older brother’s foot steps, switched from skiing to snowboarding at age six, by age seven he received his first sponsorship.

In 2004 Jake Blauvelt killed it at SlopeStyle U.S. Open when he was only 17 years old, few years later he blew minds at “the contests that matter” a.k.a. Arctic Challenge with mellow 9.4-meter (30-plus feet) backside airs in the rain. Shortly after his first major global statement he exchanged icy park jumps for soft powder turns and became one of the world’s most recognized backcountry rippers. Coming from Waterbury Center, Vermont and riding for Oakley and Ride.
