Time to get geeky! SnowBroader is proud to reveal it’s very own iPhone App!!
A couple of months ago, I received an email from Peter asking if he could develop an iPhone/iPod Touch app for SnowBroader purely as a learning curve process for him to improve his skills in writing apps for Apple products.
Peter is 21 years old from near London, and has been snowboarding for coming up to 5 years. He tries to spend at least a month of every year on the snow and this obsession carries through into his education. He is at University in Norwich, studying Computer Science where he is also president of the snow sports club.

“Go for it Bro!” is what I replied and here it is!!!
We are really stoked about the work and dedication Peter put into developing the SnowBroader app and the finished product turns out to be quite awesome!

To download the app to your iPhone / iPod Touch, go to the iTunes store and type SnowBroader in the search engine or simply click on this link.

Once the app is installed on your device, you will be able to visualize the content from the BROblog to get your daily dose of Euroshred action at the tip of your fingers, breathe through all our sick PROblogs, follow our twitter updates, check out our latest snowboard flicks and even watch all the videos we upload! Damn this is too good!

HUGE BIG UP to PETER for delivering a great app for SnowBroader!
Go ahead guys, download it, spread it and have fun using it!!

After the recent discovery of a 41-page patent filing, news has been circulating on the web this week that “Apple appears to be working on an activity sensor similar to the Nike+ iPod sport kit geared towards skiers, snowboarders and mountain bikers that would be capable of determining their “air time,” “speed,” and the amount of “power” or energy absorbed during those sporting activities.

Apple probably noticed all the iPod addict kids wearing headphones while riding and identified them as the next target after their successful incursion in the running world.
There are a few devices on the market already, but if the Apple product becomes reality, you can trust them for coming up with unexpected functionality, cool tweaks and improved usability.

With the popularity of the iPhone and the release of the third generation (iPhone 3GS) featuring voice control for music and phone functions, it could really be ok in terms of timing.
Now what is really the value in measuring a rider’s speed, route, air time and distance?
Would riders be keen on uploading their data on a website (like runners do on the Nike+ website) to store and share their stats, participate in challenges etc…
Personally I am not sure I would be so interested in knowing that I rode 80kms in a day, at an average speed of 31km/h, and spend in average 1.8 seconds air time on my jumps, I like to ride for fun, not for some performance….
Would you use such a device and if yes why?

Ultimately are we going to see more contests judged on air time, like at the Red Bull Gap Session? A lot of questions…but at the end of the day the real question is: How do I synch up my iBoard to iTunes?

StoneYour.tv is the new video channel from Volcom. They have a new Original Programming show going on called Volcamera.
This is how it works: they put the camera in the hands of our team riders. This gives the viewer a loosely edited story straight from the mind of our team riders doing what they do. For the first episodes, they sent a camera to Gigi Rüf. Gigi spent two days shredding the Italian Alps under the famous Matterhorn. This is Gigi’s view while filming for Absinthe’s new snowboard film.

Check it aaaaout!

After their acclaimed first movie “What’s Poppin”, Florent Marot and Vince Pages’ EROONE crew is back for a second opus dubbed Stick’em Up!
Thomas, the filmer, gave us a shout-out yesterday because the new EROONE website is now online! This is the place to go for all their news and podcasts.
Right now they have a first short video online which goes back to their early season trip in the USofA just before Xmas. You just want to check it out!
We are pretty stoked for them, as they have new riders joining their crew and mixing it up, and they have managed to close good sponsorships from the industry. This just shows that if you have motivation, talent and fun, you can make it happen.
The guys are currently shredding like crazy in Morgins, filming stunts and bangers like never before.
No need to tell you how awesome the conditions are in The Portes du Soleil, so you can just imagine the quality of the shots we will see next fall in all the movies!
If you still haven’t seen What’s Poppin, just click here.

Why do events always need a specific date and a fixed location? Wouldn’t it be just cool if YOU could decide about the where and when?
This year, the Snowpark Rally ignores the laws of time and space and challenges you with various missions from mid December till the end of March. Every month of this winter, you will find a mission on www.snowparkrally.com which you have to complete with as much creativity as possible. Basically every snowboarder and freeskier can participate. Both disciplines will be judged separately.
Get your mission on www.snowparkrally.com, round up your friends, go to your favorite park and get creative with your cam. It doesn’t matter if you use a SLR or a simple digicam. More important is your idea and the execution of the given task!  Afterwards you simply upload the pic onto our website. A jury of expert judges will choose the most creative ones, which can then be voted online.

Click below as Marc-André Tarte sends you on missions throughout the entire winter per video message.
