
In 2004 Jake Blauvelt killed it at SlopeStyle U.S. Open when he was only 17 years old, few years later he blew minds at “the contests that matter” a.k.a. Arctic Challenge with mellow 9.4-meter (30-plus feet) backside airs in the rain. Shortly after his first major global statement he exchanged icy park jumps for soft powder turns and became one of the world’s most recognized backcountry rippers.
