Spending a summer on European glaciers was always a dream for me. And finally this year I made it happen. I must say that was a hell of a trip…
To be honest, after almost a month on the snow, I was really looking forward to go back home, hit some nice trails on my bike and have a beer with my friends.
But after two weeks being at home I am dreaming again how it would be great to make a revival of the SnowBroader European Summer Camps Tour that took us from Dachstein to Hintertux, Val Senales, Saas-Fee, Les Deux-Alpes, Tignes and finally Cervinia.
3000kms, 4 countries, and totally sick experiences along the way!
Riding on all the European hot spots was not the only objective of this trip. The idea is also to give you our opinion on where is the best place to go shred next summer, so here is our sort of top of the pops or best of if you prefer.
Click below to check out where we believe is the best place to spend your summer shredding holidays!

The road from L2A to Tignes was epic again. We broke the record in the category of the highest overpass – 2770m above the sea level.
We slept over in the car and woke up to an early spring temperature in the morning – below zero degrees. When it got a bit warmer we headed up to the mountain. It was a slight overcast but we still had fun in the park. The little kickers in the park offered quite some fun, so we were hitting them the entire day.

Do you know Ljubljana? It’s Slovenia’s capital town! Yeah Slovenia, not Slovakia. Ljubljana is definitely the best European capital in my book! Such a sweet and laid-back place with plenty of cafe terraces along the river, and heaps of beautiful girls walking by! ;)
It’s also the home town of Mr. Marko Grilc, all-round nice guy and one of our favorite euro-shredders!
Last time I spend a few days there in May, I was hanging out in one of these cafe, having drinks with my friend Andrej.

I donno how but we started to talk about doing a crazy road trip around the Alps to visit all the summer camps possible…Easy for Andrej, he -finally ;) - just graduated from University and has the whole summer in front of me. Plus he just customized his Ford Galaxy - aka Battle Ship Galaktica -  into a RV! So bingo!
That’s the deal, Andrej and his friend Kristjan would go out on a European Summer Camp Tour and I would join them when they are around Switzerland and France!

The first SnowBroader European Summer Camp Tour was born and this is how it looks:
The guys will leave Ljubljana by the end of this week and will cruise around the Alps for over 3 weeks.
First they will stop in Dachstein to meet up with the Blue Tomato crew for some easy session and possible photoshoot.
Next stop in Austria will be Hintertux. Then it’s off to Italy and Val Senales to eat some spaghetti and say “ciao” to the Italian scene. The gentlemen riders crew will be their hosts.
After that it will be Cervinia/Zermatt or Saas-Fee, the order is not sure yet but both resorts will be crossed on the map. For the final lap of the tour, it’s baguette time, with a visit of probably the hottest snowboard venue this summer, Les Deux-Alpes, and then a grand final in Tignes!

Andrej and Kristjan will be providing reports from every place they stop, giving you the opportunity to check out the parks’ set-ups and get the feel of the vibe in every location!
Plus if we manage to pull it there will be daily updates on our Twitter page, so make sure to follow us there too!

That’s about it! We already want to give a big up to the resorts who are supporting our tour by providing lift tickets and accommodation in some cases (otherwise it’s sleeping bag in the Battle Ship Galaktica), and to the locals, like Vanessa from BT and Karin from Qparks in Dachstein, Elisabeth from Tux tourism, the gentlemen riders in Val Senales, and Manon in Tignes, who are helping us out!

The SnowBroader crew will be hitting around 3000Kms on the alpine roads, so in an effort to offset our carbon-footprint during the trip, all of us will join and donate to POW and we will make sure to promote the organization to all the people we meet.

So make sure to come say hi if you are riding this summer and check out the BROblog regularly during the next month for your dose of shred action from the best European summer snowboarding spots! YEAH!
